About Dr. Harold Davis
Harold M. Davis, MD is a consultant providing a unique insight and expertise on issues related to business integrity and mentoring. Dr. Davis is the former senior vice president and chief ethics officer at Prudential Financial, Inc. Prior to his retirement in January 2002, he was responsible for maintaining an Enterprise-wide focus on achieving high ethical standards in Prudential’s operation. He also co-chaired the Prudential Employment Dispute Resolution Program -- Roads to Resolution. Dr. Davis retired from Prudential after 15 years of service.
Dr. Davis joined Prudential in 1987 as vice president, Employee Health Services. He was promoted to departmental vice president, Employee Health and Wellness, in 1989. In 1992 he assumed responsibility for supervision of Prudential’s Managing Diversity, and Employee Education and Development Divisions. Before joining Prudential, Dr. Davis was associate medical director at ITT Corporation and clinical director at Mobil Oil Corporation.
Dr. Davis is a member of the executive board of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity. He also is a member of the Board of Trustees and Governors of Cathedral Healthcare System and a member of the Board of the Edwin Gould Foundation for Children, an Advisory Board Member of the National Eagles Leadership Institute, an Advisory Board Member for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Committee on HIV and AIDS prevention; Award Committee Member for the American Business Ethics Award (ABEA), and Chairman of the National HOPE Award Committee. In addition, Dr. Davis has served on several national and local committees dealing with AIDS and with the promotion of health opportunities for people of color and low-income individuals. He also has done research on a variety of topics, including hypertension, personal and organizational stress management, health promotion and education, healthcare cost containment, and the development of healthy companies.
Dr. Davis has a BA degree from Wesleyan University and an MD degree from Yale University Medical School. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center and is licensed in New York, New Jersey, and California. Dr. Davis was an IBM Watson Fellow, a recipient of the Achievers Award in Industry; the Columbia University Charles Drew Award, and the National Eagle Leadership Institute’s Award.
